The Garvies Point Museum & Preserve is located along Hempstead Harbor on the North Shore of Long Island. The museum features dioramas, permanent exhibits, and educational programs devoted to regional geology and Native-American archaeology. Changing exhibits cover a variety of natural history subjects. The preserve consists of 62 acres of glacial moraine covered by forests, thickets and meadows, through which are miles of marked trails, including some for the blind. There is a gift shop on the premises.

Pass Benefits

The Garvies Point Museum & Preserve pass admits 4 adults/teens (13 years of age and older) OR 2 adults/teens & up to 4 children (5 - 12 years of age). Children under 5 years of age are always free. Any additional patrons must pay the regular museum admission: $5 adult/teen and $3/children 5-12 years of age. Craft fees are not covered by the pass.

Free entry to our major events: Geology Day (Saturday February 24), Dinosaur Daze (Saturday April 6 and Sunday April 7), Garvies Point Museum Day (Saturday August 3) and our Native American Festival (weekend before Thanksgiving).

Gift Shop Discount: pass holders receive a 10% discount in our excellent museum gift shop which is chock-full of souvenirs, rocks, minerals, gems, books, educational toys, jewelry, Native American made items and more.

Harbes Barnyard Adventure is the 8-acre area of the Harbes Family Farm in Mattituck, NY open to visitors. Attractions include a number of hands-on learning experiences, such as interactions with farm animals and a chick observatory. There are also games for all ages, including the Gnome Hedge Maze, Jumbo Jumpers Bounce Pillows, Goat Mountain Slides, a Trike Track, a sports zone, and playgrounds, among others. Pig races and musical hayride tours take place on selected weekends, holidays, and summer Fridays—check the website to see schedule.

Pass Benefits

PASS VALID FOR FOUR (4) FREE ADMISSIONS: Library pass guests receive admission for four guests (4) to Harbes Barnyard Adventure (715 Sound Ave, Mattituck) during the course of our 2023 season (more info below). The library pass cannot be used at any other Harbes locations. Children 2 and under are FREE and would not count as a library pass admission.

REDEEMING: PASS IS VALID ONLY FOR DATE RESERVED. Library pass guests MUST have a printed copy of their print-on-demand pass OR they will be required to show a digital version of the pass to an admission cashier at check-in. We also need to see a valid photo ID. The name on the ID must match the name on the reserved pass.

2023 SEASON: The season runs from May 12th through November 5th with a blackout period on Columbus Day Weekend (Oct. 7, 8 & 9). Library passes cannot be used during blackout dates. Please check with the farm prior to visiting for unexpected closings or delayed openings.

OTHER RULES: No outside food permitted. No pets allowed.

The Nassau County Museum of Art is located on the grounds of the former 145-acre Frick Estate in Roslyn Harbor, NY. The museum presents rotating exhibitions in its Georgian-style mansion that anchors the institution. In addition, there a sculpture garden, formal garden, and walking trails on the property. The permanent collection of more than 600 pieces is focused on 19th and 20th century American and European art. These include works by Pierre Bonnard, Auguste Rodin, Édouard Vuillard, Chaim Gross, Moses Soyer, Larry Rivers, Robert Rauschenberg, Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, and George Segal. Among the artists represented in the sculpture garden are Fernando Botero, Richard Serra, Mark DiSuvero, and Tom Otterness. The museum is accessible to all visitors and is equipped with both ramps and an elevator. Sensory tool kits designed to provide a multi-sensory museum experience for people with ASD and their families & caregivers are available at the admission desk.

Old Westbury Gardens

Old Westbury Gardens, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is the site of Westbury House. The Charles II-style mansion, built in 1906 and furnished with fine English antiques, decorative arts, and art from the time of the original family in residence—including a John Singer Sargent painting—is open for self-guided tours. The grounds include 200 acres of formal gardens, landscaped grounds, woodlands, ponds and lakes. There is a café on the premises.

Pass Benefits

The Old Westbury Gardens pass admits 2 adults and up to four accompanying children during regular public hours.

Library Garden Passes cannot be used for special events requiring registration or fees (e.g.: workshops, concerts, teas, or non-OWG events etc.).

Library Garden Passes may be used to receive applicable “member rate” admission fee per person for the LI Scottish Highland Games, for two adults and children.

Final admissions to Old Westbury Gardens will be at 5:00pm for Members.
